LNG Storage Removal

Extraction of a 30,000-gallon LNG cryogenic storage vessel from an active industrial facility. The scope included full nitrogen purging to 0% LEL, multi-point LOTO, critical lift planning for a 100-ton crawler crane, and DOT oversize transport across three counties to a licensed TSDF.

Engineering Notes

Technical
Breakdown

NFPA 59A

LNG Facility Standard

Full compliance with NFPA 59A production, storage, and handling requirements. Closure documentation submitted to AHJ prior to extraction.

LEL PROTOCOL

Atmospheric Monitoring

Continuous multi-point LEL monitoring established 10 meters around the vessel throughout purging and disconnection. No cutting commenced until 0% LEL was confirmed and logged.

CRYO PURGE

Nitrogen Inerting

Residual LNG was vaporized and vented under controlled conditions. Vessel interior was nitrogen-purged and verified with calibrated gas detectors before any hot-work adjacent operations.

CRITICAL LIFT

100-Ton Crane Plan

Engineered critical lift plan accounting for vessel weight, ground-bearing pressure, outrigger pad load distribution, and wind load restrictions per ASME B30.5.
