Compressor Skid Removal

Extraction and haul-away of a 40-ton natural gas compressor skid from a facility with limited crane access. A 100-ton lattice-boom crane was rigged in a restricted configuration to achieve the required lift radius. Electrical lockout was executed to NFPA 70E standard before any mechanical disconnection of the skid base frame.

Technical
Breakdown

CRITICAL LIFT

Restricted-Site Crane Plan

Critical lift plan engineered for the confined yard with reduced outrigger spread. Lifting analysis performed at 85% of rated capacity at specified radius. Ground-bearing pressure calculated and timber cribbing designed for soft-ground sections.

NFPA 70E

Electrical Safety Program

Arc flash hazard assessment performed on all electrical panels connected to the skid. Proper PPE level determined from incident energy analysis. All panels locked out and tagged prior to mechanical skid disconnection.

BASE FRAME

Skid Unbolting Sequence

Structural engineer-approved sequence for base frame unbolting to prevent progressive load transfer to remaining anchor bolts. Load cells monitored during unbolting to detect unexpected load paths.

DOT MANIFEST

Compressor Transport

Compressor skid classified and manifested under applicable DOT hazmat regulations for residual hydrocarbon content. Transport vehicle placarded and driver certified before departure from facility.
