Cold-Cutting Operation

Large-format pressure vessel segmentation using diamond wire saw technology to enforce absolute zero-spark cutting protocol. Site atmosphere was maintained at confirmed 0% LEL throughout all cutting phases. No grinders, torches, or friction-generating tools were permitted within the work boundary.

Breakdown

ZERO SPARK

Cold-Cut Mandate

Absolute prohibition on any heat-generating tool — grinders, torches, friction saws, or plasma cutters — within the work boundary. Only diamond wire, hydraulic shears, and nibbler technology approved for metal removal.

DIAMOND WIRE

Wire Saw System

Diamond wire saw operates via hydraulic drive with no electrical components within the cutting zone. Wire loop tension and feed rate calibrated to vessel wall thickness to prevent frictional heating above 40°C surface temperature.

LEL BOUNDARY

10-Meter Exclusion Zone

Four-point LEL monitoring grid established at 10-meter radius from cutting zone. Any reading above 5% LEL triggers immediate work stoppage, tool withdrawal, and ventilation assessment.

HAZWOPER

Emergency Standby

Level B PPE-equipped HAZWOPER responders on standby for the duration of all segmentation operations. Medical surveillance and decontamination station established at the exclusion zone perimeter.
